  • The Types of Placement Opportunities

Temporary / Short-term Contingent Staffing: After hearing a description of the position and anticipated length of the assignment, you are able to decide if you want to accept the position or not. Positions may last from one day to several months. This is a great way for you to get your foot in the door at local employers and prove yourself to those companies and the Agency. This is a great way for you to try out different jobs and different companies to find the right fit for you. These assignments also offer you the opportunity to earn a paycheck without making a long-term commitment. When an assignment is completed successfully, the Agency will often be able to place you at a new assignment and eliminate stress.

Temp-to Hire / Preview-to-Placement: Many companies choose not to hire employees directly and instead utilize an Agency to secure employees with the goal being to hire employees directly after the employee has completed an evaluation period. This is a great way for you to get your foot in the door at a company that is intending to expand their workforce in the near future. You will save time by applying with an Agency in order to potentially gain access to jobs at companies you may not be aware are growing. Employees are often eligible for the Agency’s benefits until they are hired on by the client and become eligible for their benefits.

Direct Hire Placement: The obvious benefit of this service for you is that you are being hired directly by the company into a long-term, full-time position. Jobseekers with skill-sets more likely to be hired through a Direct Hire arrangement can benefit by applying with an Agency (or sharing a resume), to gain access to companies and openings that are not being publically advertised. Some firms may charge the applicants as well as the client company.

Payrolling/Leasing: These services provide you with the same benefits discussed above. Depending on the Agency, being referred to the Agency instead of being hired directly by the company may have the added advantage of gaining immediate access to a variety of Employee Benefits such as health, dental, life, and disability.

Professional Employer Organization (PEO): You can benefit from being employed through a PEO in a number of ways. Many small employers are unable to offer Employee Benefits such as Health Insurance, or they offer them at a cost so high that both the company and the employee struggle to pay the premiums. PEO’s allow companies to offer Employee Benefits that they would not be able to offer otherwise and/or offer the desired Benefits at a more affordable rate, due to the buying power of the PEO. Companies providing PEO’s have various HR Professionals that help ensure that client companies are following all applicable state and federal laws for employers, providing a better work environment for you.

On-Premise Program / W.I.N. Program: All of the benefits above apply since an On-Premise / W.I.N. program can consist of all of the above services. One unique benefit to you with this program is that the HR Professional is on-site at the worksite and is readily available to help answer questions, assist with concerns, and provide additional training to help you be more successful.
