About Bremer
Taking Action: Our promise to you

You'll notice it when you walk in the door, open an account, ask a question, or approach a milestone in your life: the people at Bremer are ready, willing, and able to take action. That service has been part of our culture since our founder, Otto Bremer, opened the doors to his first bank in 1943.

Here's what our company looks like today:

Dedicated employees: Nearly 2,000.
Comprehensive services: Banking, investment, trust, and insurance.
Valued clients: Individuals and families, large and mid-size corporations, small businesses, agribusinesses, nonprofits, public and government entities.
Convenient locations: Locations throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
Ownership structure: Co-owned by the Otto Bremer Foundation, a nonprofit charitable trust, and Bremer employees.

A genuine commitment to our communities
Bremer is owned by both our employees and the Otto Bremer Foundation. Bremer fosters a culture of caring and commitment and demonstrates it through grants from the Otto Bremer Foundation, donations by local Bremer affiliates, and the volunteerism of our employees' time and skills to nonprofit organizations and community projects.
At Bremer, customer service isn't something we just talk about — it's something we do for individuals, businesses, and communities. Every day.

Community Service Reinvestment Act
The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), enacted by Congress in 1977, is intended to encourage depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate, including low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.

At Bremer, we not only follow CRA guidelines, we actively look for opportunities to assist in the economic and social development of our communities. We accomplish this in several ways:

  • Bremer employees are actively involved in nonprofit organizations that target community development, many providing leadership by serving on the Board of Directors of these organizations.
  • Bremer makes financial contributions that target community development needs in the form of grants from the Otto Bremer Foundation as well as donations from Bremer affiliates.
  • Bremer also donates time and expertise by providing financial information to members of our communities. For example, Bremer affiliates host complimentary homebuyer's seminars several times throughout the year, which provide information and guidelines to first time homebuyers.

Bremer realizes that our success is dependent upon the success of our communities. This is why we fully support the CRA.
