Amesbury Extruded Products is a custom extruder of
quality thermal plastic profiles.
Amesbury is a Division of Lupus Capital, Lupus Capital located in London, England. Laird acquired Amesbury Industries, Inc. (located in Amesbury, Massachusetts) in 1981.
In 1985, Amesbury Industries invented a closed cell, TPE foam weather seal that came to be known as the Foam-Tite® line. As time has passed, this location has come to be called the Foam-Tite® division. The Foam-Tite® division continues to offer a product with a high level of performance and design flexibility. Amesbury Industries has been manufacturing weather stripping products since the 1950's.
In 1985 Laird acquired Plastics Profiles-PPI, which had been originally established in 1978, located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. PPI offers high quality custom thermoplastic extrusions specializing in multi-durometer profiles and quick turn-around custom solutions.
In 1990, under the direction of Laird Group, the textile or pile division was moved south to a facility in Statesville, North Carolina. This facility came to be known as the Textile Division. The Textile plant has continued the tradition of offering quality weather stripping to their customers. In addition, the Textile Division has expanded their line to include an extruded pile weather stripping line which includes extruder grade pile. Recently, an antimicrobial product has been added to their line of products.
In 1993, Amesbury Industries became known as Amesbury Group.
