Overview

This position will build trusted relationships and partner with client groups to apply HR management principles and knowledge to establish rapport, trust, confidence and credibility with management and employees. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. This position must be sensitive to corporate goals, employee goodwill and business needs, while also administering HR services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, administration, and maintenance of all HR - related policies, procedures, and processes under the supervision of the Vice President
  • Provide day-to-day supervision to the HR Business Partners.
  • Coach and counsel managers, supervisors, and employees on employee relations issues while demonstrating an appropriate balance between company and employee advocacy in dealings with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide employees and managers with guidance regarding policy interpretation
    • Counsel and guide managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
    • Manage and track all employee disciplinary action
    • Manage and resolves complex employee relations issues, including employee complaints, harassment allegations, and/or civil rights complaints.
    • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations through adhering to internal standards and procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with the Human Resources & Talent/Organizational Effectiveness teams to provide day-to-day support to client groups for the following:
    • Talent acquisition, selection, and on-boarding
      • Assist hiring managers in pre-screening applications, resumes, and conduct phone screens as needed
      • Participate in panel interviews for management positions
      • Manage internal compliance for job offers
      • Maintain all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
      • Maintain job descriptions for all Titan Machinery positions
      • File EEO-1 report annually; and maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
    • Assist in communicating, tracking, and evaluating the effectiveness of employee development, performance management, and engagement practices
    • Conduct exit interviews and report compliance or culture concerns to the VP of HR as appropriate.
    • Support Employee Recognition effort
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and administration of all employee related benefits and perquisites, including but not limited to:
    • FMLA and medical leave approvals and case management
    • Absences, exits, return to work, and military leave
  • Maintain human resource information system records and compiles reports from the HRIS.
  • Manage employee relations issues and conduct investigations in support of corporate ethics and values.
  • Participate in company-wide HR programs and initiatives (e.g., compensation review, performance management, and training assessment.)
  • Participate in the Titan HR Team to ensure the sharing of HR best practices, the leveraging of HR resources across the team, and the deployment of HR processes across the entire company
  • Collaborate with the Titan HR Team to ensure the effective and efficient management of employee data, including unemployment claims and employment verification. Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects/duties as they arise
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required:
• 3+ years progressively responsible HR and/or related experience

• Must demonstrate a high level of personal comfort with change and change management, and the ability to consult and guide managers and employees through change initiatives.
• Ability to handle and resolve frequent interpersonal conflict
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, stressful work environment
• Ability to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and work flexible hours
• Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility, and ability to quickly adjust to changing HR compliance and policies is required

Preferred:
• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree is required. Educational focus on business, management, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred

• 5+ years of HR experience supporting multiple locations across many states, preferred
• PHR/SPHR Certification and/or master's degree is preferred

Physical Requirements

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
