Clara City Senior Living comprised of a skilled care center and an assisted living facility is looking for a full-time experienced Accountant to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. This position oversees the accounts payable function. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and ability to communicate clearly.

Essential functions of the job include:

Develop, maintain, monitor, coordinate and/or supervise the performance of the facilities central accounting and financial systems, to ensure conformance with generally accepted principles and practices in accounting
Maintain additions and deletions to fixed assets
Prepare profit and loss statement and balance sheet
Assist external auditor with required documents
Assist external accountants with the Medicare and Medicaid Cost reports
Develop and maintain the facilities purchasing system
Coordinate the account receivable operations
Assist all departments with budget preparation

A candidate for this position needs to have the following skills:

Associates of Art degree in accounting or related field. Or 3 years bookkeeping experience working in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger,
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software
