Catch Basin Mosquito Inspector 

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 
Under general direction: locate, survey, and treat catch basins utilizing a bicycle for control of mosquito larvae according to District guidelines. 

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: 
Responsibilities include the application of mosquito larvicides to catch basins done from a bicycle or vehicle, assisting with catch basin larval surveillance projects, inspecting public and private properties for mosquito habitat, placing and retrieving mosquito traps and assisting with other mosquito surveillance or research projects. Additional responsibilities include: testing mosquito and bird samples for West Nile virus using the Rapid Assay Measurement Platform (RAMP); updating digital maps using MapInfo software, data entry; simple upkeep and maintenance of buildings, vehicles, bicycles, and other District tools and equipment as directed; perform other job-related duties as required or directed. 
 

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: 
High School education or equivalent; Must be able to ride a bicycle.
