Job Information

Responsible for management of specified functional area. Direct activities of supervisors and lead overall continuous improvement for area.

Role & Responsibility

Labor Relations
  • Interpret the collective bargaining agreement and attempt to resolve employee issues and/or grievances.
  • Key Performance Indicator(s): Resolution of grievance issues.

Department Administration
  • Arrange supervisor support for assigned area during all times of operation.
  • Responsible for leading functional business unit process improvements as it relates to reduction of scrap, overtime, rework, downtime, etc.
  • Responsible for setting standard of good housekeeping and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • KPI(s): Number of kaizens within area. Information flow & governance. Audit Score. 5S Score. Safety Cross.

Continuous Improvement Efforts
  • Within area of responsibility, lead continuous improvement by focusing on top issue corrective actions.
  • Maintain a collaborative working environment with all other PPL’s and departments.
  • KPI(s): Downtime reduction. First Pass Yield. Customer satisfaction.

Personnel Management
  • Manage and develop Product Cell Leaders within functional area to promote a culture of caring and accountability with related Production staff.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of company policies and regulations. Administer discipline of employees within assigned department, in accordance with progressive discipline procedures.
  • KPI(s): Resolution of grievances/issues. Meet production schedules. Product quality.


Job Requirement

  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Any Bachelor's degree required. Relevant experience acceptable.
  • 7>10 years experience required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Less than 10% travel required.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
