SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Is directly accountable and responsible to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and non-quantitative information to state, federal, and regional regulators and accreditors that documents the attainment of the College's strategic goals and objectives.

DUTIES:

Data collection, analysis and interpretation - 90%
  1. Develops processes to compile, analyze and interpret data from studies, surveys, and other sources that document the attainment of College-wide goals and objectives.
  1. Facilitates and completes research and coordination of:
  • Annual NDUS requests for information.
  • Requests for information/surveys from external and internal sources.
  1. Applies research methodologies and techniques in the collection, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and non-quantitative information.
  1. Completes data reporting requirements for the college (Clearinghouse, SAM/VFA, etc.).
  1. Completes and submits reports to internal and external audiences including local, state and federal regulatory agencies (IPEDs, EADA, etc.).
  1. Gathers and reports statistical data on student success including:
  • Enrollment statistics and demographics
  • Retention and graduation rates
  • Transfer rates
  • Job placement rates
  • Satisfaction surveys by students, alumni, and employers.
  1. Disseminates data-related reports to various campus and other BSC community stakeholders in a timely manner.
  2. Works collaboratively with other units of the College to assist in the development and accomplishment of their research and reporting endeavors.
  1. Supports college-wide assessment and program review with analyses required by the project.

Miscellaneous duties - 10%
  1. Supports innovation, creativity and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and as a whole for the college.
  1. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in statistics, mathematics, educational administration, societal science, business administration, economics, marketing research, or related discipline.
  • Two years of related experience or one year of direct experience in higher education.
  • Experience with survey research methodology, analysis, and report writing.
  • Good working knowledge of computer software programs (i.e., spreadsheet programs, database programs, etc.).
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree with a major in statistics, mathematics, educational administration, societal science, business administration, economics, marketing research, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a higher education institution.
  • Experience with SPSS, R, SAS, Megastat, STATA, or comparable software.
  • Knowledge of institutional accreditation reports and processes.
