Position description

Charter House's mission, to provide the best care through practice, education, and research directs the activities of the registered nurse. The Nursing Process of assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluating is the basis for all care delivered by the registered nurse. The registered nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct resident care and performs case management for clients. The RN is responsible for the supervision and delegation of the nursing care provided by professional and ancillary nursing personnel. The registered nurse assesses and plans in collaboration with the resident, family and/or significant others and the interdisciplinary health care team to meet the care, educational and discharge needs. Adheres to Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice and Nurse Practice Act. The RN will work in a Home Health Agency under the MN Comprehensive Home Care license, serving only residents who live in apartments within the Charter House building (similar to Assisted Living – no driving required).

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Minnesota RN license or current license deemed appropriate by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Two years of experience in acute care nursing.

Additional qualifications

One to two years recent experience in Home Health, Assisted Living, or Long-term care is preferred. 
Must be able to work independently. Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff. Strong problem solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of resident and employees. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Works flexible hours, which may include days, holidays and every 3rd weekend and may include a very rare evening. Licensure/Certification Required: MN Registered Nurse license and CPR certification.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $1,751.04, based on a 64 hour schedule.
