POSITION SCOPE

The Safety Manager will be involved with the daily operations of the Safety Department. The individual will be involved with MSHA/OSHA and DOT reporting and compliance, employee training, conduct work site and shop inspections, accident investigation, and establishing safety policies and procedures for personnel. This person will be based out of Globe AZ, and will require overnight travel as needed or directed.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Assist the Safety Director to ensure overall safety of all employees.
  • Conduct Safety Inspections of job sites and shop/manufacturing locations.
  • Assist with MSHA/OSHA/DOT accident reporting and record keeping.
  • Implementation of safety programs and policies in accordance with governmental agencies and regulations.
  • Participate in investigating and documenting all property damage and personal injury accidents.
  • Take part in employee safety training.
  • Assist the Safety Director in organizing training seminars with emphasis on hazards, personnel, and equipment safety to meet OSHA/MSHA/DOT requirements.
  • Function as a resource to management and employees to comply with program and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    BACKGROUND
  • Background and knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Self starter with problem solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at any given time.
  • Must be a MSHA part 48/46 trainer.
  • Must have 5 years of MSHA part 48 mine experience.
