Hiring Department:  Center for Rural Health, School of Medicine & Health Sciences Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $38,000 plus/year (salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience).  This is a full-time, benefited, exempt position.
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, may include occasional non-standard hours.  Working from home or remotely is not an available options for ths position.

The Center for Rural Health (CRH) at the University of North Dakota is looking to hire an experienced and talented individual for the position of Research Coordinator.  This position will provide research support to health workforce development activities and other projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate research projects.
  • Coordinate data acquisition and data management.
  • Promote information dissemination and expansion of knowledge base.


Required Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, or other online survey platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience in acquiring data from secondary data websites.
  • Knowledge and experience with database functionality.
  • Knowledge and experience in completing Institutional Review Board applications.
  • Must have superior interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, coordinate multiple projects and assignments, meet deadlines and function in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong internet search skills.
  • Strong, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction, organize, and follow-through on assigned tasks and to work as part of a team.
  • High level of attention-to-detail and the ability to generate high quality and timely work products.
  • Aptitude in working with numbers, mathematics, and/or statistics.
  • May include occasional travel to events and meetings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, or health related field.  Will consider other degrees with directly relevant work experience.
  • Two years of work experience in project coordination and/or research support, or similar.  
  • Experience using computers, specifically with Microsoft Office software applications with an emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Must provide a statement that establishes individual’s knowledge of research practices and experience working with research activities.
  • Cover letter and resume must be submitted, in addition to the UND application.
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in survey construction. Experience coordinating grant programs. Knowledge of rural health dynamics.
