SUMMARY OF POSITION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Is directly accountable and responsible to the Dean of Enrollment Management.

Responsible for providing direct assistance to students, parents, professional staff and general public for the efficient operation of the Admissions and Enrollment Services office.

DUTIES:
Provides office support to the Admissions and Enrollment Services office - 90%
  1. Serves as primary contact in Admissions and Enrollment Services and provides information to students in written, in-person, and telephone inquiries. Also provides information and assistance to the community and BSC campus.
  2. Responds to a high volume of telephone calls, emails and walk-in prospective students and their families.
  3. Must be knowledgeable about academic policies and procedures, BSC programs, and a thorough knowledge of where and how information can be retrieved from PeopleSoft and electronic imaging system.
  4. Schedules campus tours and provides tours as needed. Prepares and sends pre- and post- tour correspondence.
  5. Works within our Customer Relationship Management System to manage prospective students.Assists with campus activities and events related to the recruitment and enrollment of students.
  6. Performs procedures involved in the processing of applications for admission following established guidelines using Oracle/PeopleSoft student administration software.
  7. Analyzes admissions applications and ensures all supporting documents/materials have been completed.
  8. Provides application status information and pertinent information regarding prospective student status.
  9. Manages letters and mailing for prospective students from our Customer Relationships Management System and also helps manage our text messaging software.
  10. Schedules appointments for staff with prospective students and parents.
  11. Maintains confidentiality of student records consistent with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.
Miscellaneous duties - 10%
  1. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled departmental and campus meetings.
  2. Supports innovation, creativity and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and as a whole for the college.
  3. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Appropriate associate degree or two years of directly related work experience in a customer service position.
  • Proficient in computer software programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, email & electronic calendar and internet) and excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage many different activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate tactfully and with emphasis on good customer service to a variety of people.
  • Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Disciplined and able to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred:
  • Appropriate associate degree.
  • Three years' experience in a comparable position in higher education.
  • Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft student administration software.
