Job Details

This position directs and manages the nursing and health sciences programs and activities at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC). The Dean provides leadership in the areas accreditation, curriculum development, data analysis and evaluation, and planning. This position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation and implementation of College policy, as well as Minnesota Board of Nursing policy, and ACEN accreditation policy. This position also serves as part of the College's supervisory and leadership teams and works in the best interest of College and the Minnesota State System of Colleges and Universities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures the compliance of nursing and health sciences programs and meets the expectations of all components related to nursing program accreditation, including student learning assessment; admission to and progression through the nursing program; data analyses, evaluation, and data-informed decision making; leading a systematic evaluation plan; and building an environment of continuous improvement. Evaluates curriculum with faculty and develops best practices to assure accreditation standards are met. Leads, supervises, and directs department personnel. Recruits, advises, and evaluates students. Develops, implements, and manages the Nursing and Health Sciences budget ensuring objectives are met and programming is appropriately resourced with equipment, technology, and development opportunities. Expands the health occupation programming to provide FDLTCC students options to the growing demands in the healthcare industry. Participates in collaborative relationships with community partners, healthcare organizations advisory boards, Minnesota Board of Nursing, ACEN Accreditation, and other relevant organizations. Serve as a member of the FDLTCC leadership team. Provides leadership and works in concert with the president, administration, staff, and faculty to support student academic success and meet the educational needs of a diverse student body. Participates in the strategic planning for the College to ensure growth and sustainability. Effectively collaborates with local, state, and national health organizations to ensure strategic and operational levels are met. Partners with community and regional health related organizations and other Minnesota State and/or private educational institutions. Other duties as assigned. Position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree in Nursing.
* Registered Nurse
* CPR certified
* Minimum of three year's nursing experience at the professional level.
* Minimum of two year's college teaching experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Doctorate in Nursing Education
* Simulation Certification
* Experience with nursing accreditation.
* Experience with nursing curriculum development and related evaluation practices.
* Experience working with faculty in a continuous improvement environment.
* Experience working with tribal communities and/or culturally and philosophically diverse student populations.
* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills appropriate to a professional academic environment.
