Roaster

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                  

·         Executing, set up and roasting for different production runs as necessary in a timely manner

·         Effective communications relevant to plant performance

·         Ensures quality assurance programs designed for continuous production of products

·         Verify and ensure that products are being produced to customer standards

·         Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions

·         Test product samples during production

·         Clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment for standard operations following preventive maintenance guidelines and using approved tools

·         Maintain a clean and organized work environment

·         Accurately prepare and maintain all area paperwork and documentation

•   Comply with all food safety requirements including HAACP and GMP Guidelines, Quality Assurance Systems, guidelines and standard operating procedures to provide safe food products to our customers

·         Any other duties assigned by shift lead or manager

SHIFT:

Rotating 12's

7am-7pm/ 7pm-7am

Some weekends

Qualifications:

·         Must be able to operate equipment in the assigned production area

·         Have a good understanding of product flow

·         Solid communication skills

·         Must be able to complete minor maintenance

·         Must be able to prepare and maintain accurate paperwork

·         Ability to analyze a situation and communicate proper information needed to resolve issues

·         Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines

·         Understand terminology related to the roasting equipment

·         Able to work with minimal supervision

·         Adapt to changes in work environment; Able to deal with frequent changes / delays or unexpected events that can change production schedules and work schedules

·         Must be able to train new operators

·         Must have the ability to express thoughts and ideas for improving the process operation within the realm of the guidelines

·         Maintain good attendance

Education:

·         High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

·         Prior experience in food manufacturing is preferred.  Prior experience in manufacturing or plant operation is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

·         Ability to safely operate a forklift

·         Can comfortably utilize a computer to accurately enter data

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

·         Able to stand for long periods of time

·         Able to lift minimum of 50 pounds and at times more

·         Can comfortably climb ladders and steps in high places

·         Able to work in hot and cold situation
