The Position:
This position contributes to the development of UW-River Falls operating budget by forecasting revenues and expenses, performing analyses, and developing metrics to measure outcomes. Gathering data and manipulating large data sets to support decision making is integral to budget development and financial analysis work. The annual salary associated with this position will be $48,333 at minimum. The final offer will be based on education and/or experience

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
*Work with managers to develop program and department budgets 25%
*Prepare regular financial reports and analyze data to make fiscal recommendations 20%
*Prepare multi-year forecasts 15%
*Provide informal or formal training 15%
*Develop and ensure compliance with policies and procedures 10%
*Confidential and administrative tasks 10%
*Manage licensing of university marks and royalties 5%

Qualifications Required:
*3 years of relevant experience or degree in finance, accounting or related field.
*Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel to develop and maintain multiple spreadsheets, sorting and filtering, calculations, etc. (Intermediate user frequently uses the software with little or no assistance and can use some of the advanced features).
*Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook to prepare letters and other communication.
*Excellent listening, professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate complex information in an understandable fashion to a variety of people with various levels of knowledge.
*Accuracy with strong attention to detail and highly organized
*Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications Preferred:
*The ability to work with a variety of individuals in a productive team format in a flexible, collaborative approach
*Sound judgement, creativity, independence and initiative
*Strong analytical skills, the ability to examine a large volume of data, make sense of it, identify issues and find trends in the data
*Ability to problem solve: investigate a problem, work to understand an issue from all angles, find solutions in a timely and efficient manner, and make recommendations based on your findings
*Ability to analyze data and interpret accounting and financial guidelines in the development and maintenance of budgets
*Ability to work on a variety of computer systems, and the willingness to acquire knowledge on new technology or additional programs
*Ability to communicate complex ideas and data to non-technical audiences.
*Experience working with statistical software and databases (SPSS, Access, OBIEE Experience, etc.) using analytic software and tools to forecast or estimate information for planning purposes
*Experience with fund accounting, particularly in higher education
*5 years or more of relevant experience
*Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, management information systems or related field, or bachelor's degree in another field with 5 years equivalent experience with analysis, budgets and complex reports.
