JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise networks. Must be able to support multiple routing and switching protocols. The Network Engineer provides guidance to the technical support teams engaged in implementation and troubleshooting of hardware and software that support a wide range of systems. Must be proficient in the use of network management platforms and troubleshooting tools, such as protocol analyzers. Attends training, conferences, and seminars as needed to obtain specific hardware/software knowledge. Understands a systems approach to problem solving and process improvement involving staff. Ability to plan, architect, and document enterprise class solutions for future network growth. Possess a fundamental working knowledge of operating systems and software currently used throughout Sanford Health. Must have good communication skills both written a verbal. Network certifications a plus. Knowledge of network routing and switching hardware, as well as network security equipment and best practices.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements. Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes. Document design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability. Provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs. Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software. Communicate project information through presentations, technical reports, or white papers. Direct the installation of network or application software, or computer or network hardware.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree required. Area of focus in technology related field preferred. Three years experience or advanced
certifications in networking. Advanced knowledge of network routing and switching hardware, as well as network security
equipment and best practices.
