JOB SUMMARY

Oversees financial accounting and reporting for health plan companies. This includes ensuring accuracy of monthly financial statements, proper internal controls, coordination of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory audits, and coordinating national association of insurance commissioners (NAIC) and state regulatory filings and exams.
Oversees the direction of budgeting and forecasting for health plan companies. Assisting with development of the annual strategic plan. Directs revenue cycle management of health plan billing operations. Ensure accurate premium invoicing, carrying out appropriate collection and delinquency policies and procedures, managing customer inquiries, and overseeing proper internal controls over this cycle. Ensure accuracy of group quotes, compliance with state and federal laws, and carrying out growth strategies in all lines of business. Oversees leadership directing data analytics analysis and actuarial analysis.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews key financial and performance indicators used by the corporation. Monitors relevant industry trends and their implications. Leads the development or enhancement of major financial systems. Leads discussions on financial trends, markets, and benchmarks for implications to own organization. Handles multiple initiatives at the same time and integrates them into a comprehensive plan. Develops strategies to align the operating costs of all major financial applications to organizational goals. Defines processes and practices for managing client expectations and service delivery. Champions the use of the newest methods, strategies and technologies in managing organizational cash. Champions behaviors that inspire cohesiveness and move the organization to reach a vision.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, or Accounting required. Master of Business Administration preferred.
A Minimum of five years management experience and experience in health industry required. Audit experience and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) accounting guidelines preferred. Knowledge of National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and state regulatory requirements for financial reporting and underwriting regulations preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
