JOB SUMMARY

The Monitor Tech provides support services. Some duties include: basic computer keyboarding skills, tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate, calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed, and stocking supplies. In addition, the monitor tech will be responsible in monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs as well as following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms. This role must be able to interpret alarms and follow through with appropriate communication as needed.Must know how to use organizational policies and procedures. May have access to medications for purposes of distribution to licensed personnel. May include reception duties i.e. answering phones, use of multi-line telephone system and spectra-links. Must be organized and have ability to prioritize work, function under and handle stress and ability to do detailed work efficiently. Must have good interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and able to collaborate with other team members.Must be able to do troubleshooting with telemetry equipment and seek assistance when needed. Must be able to work under busy conditions. This department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. May be expected to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Experience in healthcare is helpful. Previous experience with clerical/business services, communications equipment, and computer entry desirable but not required.
