Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist
This full time (72hrs/pp) day, evening, and every 3rd weekend position is a member of the Hospitalist team providing care for medical patients and families and serving as a resource to nursing, social services, spiritual care staff, and other patient care providers. The Nurse Practitioner's main function is to assess, plan, evaluate, implement, and coordinate care of medical patients under the direction of the hospitalist service. Care is performed through a collaborative practice agreement with the Centra Care Clinic Hospitalist. Patients of all ages served. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards and Code of Conduct.
Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Masters degree in nursing with formal training as a nurse practitioner in the same specialty area of practice in which they are certified.
Minimum of three years direct patient care experience in the area of internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics or oncology. Experience in acute care is preferred. Demonstrated competence in teaching, organization, leadership, communication and research. Orientation will be given to obtain desired entry-level competence in lieu of experience.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota required. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty required. BLS and Advance Cardiac Life Support (BLS and ACLS) required. Memorandum of understanding as outlined by the Board of Nursing.
