2:30pm-6pm Monday-Friday
Mission: The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is a not-for-profit community service organization dedicated to enhancing the spirit, mind, and body of all persons through quality leadership, programs, services, and facilities.
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the School Age Site Coordinator, the School-Age
Staff will be responsible for the safe supervision and transportation of the
children enrolled in the School-Age program. This supervision and transportation
will be in line with the YMCA Child Care philosophies and guidelines.
Education, Training, Licenses and Certifications:
Required:
• A valid and "clean" driver's license
• Negative TB test prior to your first day of work
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Regular in-service training as required by State licensing agencies
Preferred:
• Experience and/or education related to working with children are desired
Expected to obtain after hired:
• YMCA Listen First Training
• YMCA Activate America Training
• Other required initial and/or on-going training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
• Minimum age of 18
• Must be able to hear and understand the English language
Preferred:
• Ability to relate well with children and adults.
Essential Functions:
School Age Program
• Assist with school age planned activities. Plan assigned activities as
needed.
• Greet children and parents in a professional manner.
• Interact with children at all times.
• Be prepared to go in the water with the children on scheduled swimming
days.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment for children, parents and
staff.
• Work cooperatively with school personnel as needed.
Transportation
• Be aware of any changes or additions to the children's pick up schedule.
• Take assigned clipboard on transportation route every day and keep
accurate daily attendance.
• Ensure transportation schedules are on time.
Other
• Interact with co-workers in a manner free of gossip and negative attitudes.
• Exhibit proper professional attitudes, striving to understand family
situations and keeping all information on families confidential.
• Carry out all procedures for emergencies and building evacuations.
• Attendance/Punctuality: Is on time and present for scheduled shift; when unable
to work scheduled shift – informs supervisor per policy and finds own
replacement if possible
• Meeting/Training: Attends mandatory departmental meetings and trainings
sessions as required
• Maintains a neat and clean work area, free of hazards
• Follows YMCA policies and Departmental procedures
• Other duties upon request by immediate supervisor
