Position Description: This position is located at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), an international leader in energy and environmental research, conducting projects for clients throughout the United States and the world. We are looking for experienced, aggressive, scientifically trained, and market-oriented individuals to contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following functions: developing geochemical experiments and/or chemical analysis to understand the interaction between reservoir rocks and reservoir fluids, evaluating the results of laboratory and field data to characterize past and potential future geochemical processes, performing numerical simulations to better understand the geochemical processes in oil and gas reservoirs and aquifers, performing regional geologic characterizations for clients, assisting in the preparation of technical reports, and interfacing with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to assess project uncertainties in oil and gas development and geologic CO2 storage. Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in one of the following: geochemistry, geology, geological sciences, geological engineering, petroleum engineering, or related science or engineering field
• Experience performing or interpreting experiments on the geochemical interactions between sedimentary rocks and in situ fluids in hydrocarbon reservoirs or aquifers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Criminal history background check
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience preparing and delivering presentations
• Author or coauthor of published, peer-reviewed journal articles or technical paper
• Two years experience in research or with industry performing geochemical experiences on sedimentary rocks with different fluids
• Experience evaluating the kinetics of geochemical reactions
• Basic understanding of sedimentary geology, oil-and-gas related logging and seismic techniques
• Experience performing petrophysical analysis for modeling subsurface geology
• Advanced degree in geochemistry, geology, geological sciences, geological engineering, petroleum engineering, or related science or engineering field
