Integrates education, research, management, leadership and consultation into clinical practice. The collaborative practice of the APRN includes accepting referrals from, consulting with, cooperating with or referring to other health care providers in order to promote comprehensive and continuity of care in both primary care and specialty practice. The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice RN who works in collaboration with physicians to provide patient medical services.

Must have completed a program of study designed to prepare an RN for advanced practice and which meets Board of Nursing standards for practice as an APRN. A master's degree in nursing is required if practicing in ND and if initially licensed after Aug 1, 1995, otherwise preferred. Level of experience may vary depending on Service Area. Must have extensive advanced knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques.
