Robot/CNC Programmer 

Cirrus is seeking design, engineering, and experimental staff to support the SF50 Vision Jet program. The program is now funded for development, certification, and entry into production. Aircraft conceptual design and configuration is complete, and we are now entering into the conforming fabrication and validation phase. We are looking for talented, exciting, motivated people to join our team to bring this aircraft through FAA and international type certification, and into rate production. Candidates with a wide range of experience, from entry to manager level, will be considered. This project is a rare aviation industry chance to work a type design project that offers career and technical growth, leadership opportunity, funding stability, and will produce an airplane that will change the world.

Responsible for creating CNC programs/code to machine piece parts, tooling, and other components from metal and other materials utilizing multi-axis machine tools and/or robots. Work with manufacturing engineers and machine operators to develop approaches and sequences to safely and efficiently produce complex components of very high quality. Verify programs using simulation software as well as inspecting physical results of the machining process. Design machine tool fixtures as required and operate machine tools and/or robots as required to meet critical deadlines. Offer suggestions to improve manufacturability of designs.

Qualifications: Associates Degree in CNC Programming, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or Robotics, or 5 years equivalent experience. High degree of mathematical aptitude, including the ability to apply concepts of trigonometry and geometry. Knowledge of machining processes and attention to detail. Experience in use of G-code and CNC programming systems. Expertise in PowerMill software desired. Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) desired.
