POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The University of North Dakota, College of Nursing seeks a senior faculty researcher for bio-¬behavioral or translational research beginning academic year 2012-2013. The Northern Plains Center for Behavioral Research includes multi-disciplinary behavioral researchers targeting significant and prominent problems of people in the Northern Plains region. The focus is behavioral research as the basis for identification, prevention, intervention and management of prevalent concerns among the vulnerable populations in the Northern Plains. An area of developing need is in the area of the behavioral impact of environment-induced alterations in
the epigenome, identified by the multidisciplinary researchers comprising the UND Epigenetics Interest Group. A nurse researcher with bio-behavioral expertise has the opportunity to establish linkages between basic research findings and behavioral outcomes.
North Dakota is experiencing a period of growth and change within its industry, economy and rural
and small communities. This will provide a rich opportunity for study and research. If available the
position could begin as early as January 2013.
Faculty Responsibilities:
1. Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred.
2. Master's degree (one of the graduate degrees must be in nursing)
3. Candidate must possess or be eligible for licensure as a reregistered nurse in North Dakota.
4. Current and recent extramural funding.
5. Teaching experience preferred.
