Production Supervisor-Grand Forks

This position is responsible for employee safety and continuous, efficient production in desired quantity and quality in relation to assembly. This position is also responsible for maintaining quality standards in relation to ISO/API standards and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Responsible for carrying out and maintaining production schedules, developed in conjunction with the Fabrication Production and Weld Supervisors at the rate of pull from the customer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Responsible for guiding department staff to meet daily/weekly production schedules; will operate assembly equipment as needed. 2. Responsible for communicating department and staffing needs with the Value Stream Manager. 3. Oversee the completion of the required in-process quality inspections as well as coordinating with the QMS staff for the final inspection process. 4. Responsible for safety training and safe operating procedures training and testing for department staff. 5. Oversee use of Standard Work Training Guides for employee training. Insure guides are kept current and all employees are trained to the latest revision. 6. Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity from all employees and encourages safe and efficient utilization of equipment and facilities to maintain a high standard of quality control. 7. Maintains compliance with company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. Will communicate necessary information to all department personnel. 8. Will collect ongoing first time through (FTT) data for continuous improvement efforts. 9. Responsible for assuring proper maintenance of equipment and production area is completed. 10. Prepare and maintain current production and inventory records. 11. Will assist in recommending purchases of new capital equipment and ideas to improve quality, production, processes, or working conditions. 12. Will maintain assembly supplies inventory and coordinate purchase orders for new products as needed. 13. Will utilize M2M system to produce job orders, ship lists, etc. 14. Organize all paperwork for jobs and assist in production of Misc. Sales Dept when necessary. Assure shipping and receiving is complete. 15. Will monitor scrap report and conduct daily evaluation of scrap material. Will report resulting information to the Inventory Control Manager. 16. Will lead weekly department meetings to communicate, train, and review Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performances. 17. Use day-by-the-hour or visual production scheduling leveling boards for daily work assignments and monitoring production to document issues that cause delays. 18. Will conduct bi-weekly safety and quality audits, determine root cause and implement corrective actions found. 19. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you collaborate with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. 20. Helps the company meet its Quality objectives. 21. Other duties as may also be assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements " High school diploma or GED " 2 years related work experience " Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, Microsoft Office, etc.) " Communication skills - OR - " An acceptable combination of education and experience. Environment considerations: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hot/cold temperatures, vibration, and chemical & noise exposure. Equipment used: Includes, but not limited to, computers, copy machines, fax machines, and a telephone. Ergonomics: The employee is expected to use ergonomic practices on a daily basis. Upon hire and on a yearly basis, training is provided by employer Travel required for this position is more than <15%. This position may be eligible for relocation benefits.
