The DRG Coding Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate APC coding and DRG coding and completion of abstraction screens. Graduate of an accredited school of Health Information. Inpatient and outpatient coding experience in a healthcare setting typically acquired in two to three years. The incumbent must have the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in meaningful ways using email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, report writer software and database management as applicable to the position. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills beneficial. Must be able to comprehend policies, procedures and guidelines. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
