Prepares exterior surfaces of aircraft for paint application. Fills voids or cavities and dents or repairs defects as necessary. Manually applies body filler per procedures to reestablish a smooth surface contour and finish. Sands, and finishes excess filler to match required surface contour. Sprays surfaces with protective material, such as paint primers using a spray gun or “dump (gravity fed) gun” in a paint booth. Sands and polishes surfaces in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and procedures resulting in a smooth and clean surface matching the surface requirements and shape of the drawings. Primarily utilizes air tools for purposes of high volume sanding and buffing. Applies vinyl graphics in accordance with instructions. Completes detailed inspection of paint surfaces and corrects minor surface defects. Attention to detail required. Wears proper protective equipment during appropriate job functions. Complies with all paperwork that govern job duties. Responsible for graphics application, buffing, polishing and paint repair. Qualifications: Two year Technical School in Auto Body and Paint or equivalent combination of education and experience.
