Flight Test Engineers

Cirrus is seeking design, engineering, and experimental staff to support the SF50 Vision Jet program. The program is now funded for development, certification, and entry into production. Aircraft conceptual design and configuration is complete, and we are now entering into the conforming fabrication and validation phase. We are looking for talented, exciting, motivated people to join our team to bring this aircraft through FAA and international type certification, and into rate production. Candidates with a wide range of experience, from entry to manager level, will be considered. A flight test engineer is responsible for planning, executing and reporting test operations on aerospace vehicles for the purpose of research, development and certification. The primary duties include test planning, test readiness, safety of flight and test operations. The flight test engineer must communicate to engineering and project personnel on the planning, status and results of the tests (ground and/or flight). Oversees and confirms test aircraft configuration for test, including test instrumentation prior to testing and conducts preliminary review and processing of specific test planning documents. Observe company, FAA rules and regulations, and proper use of safety and risk mitigation methods and the safe operation of equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. The flight test engineer must be relatively familiar with most common flight test procedures and requirements. We prefer some familiarity with FAA certification processes and procedures. The flight test engineer must hold a Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline. A private pilot license is an asset, but is not considered essential. Strong communication skills are an asset and an ability and willingness to work with irregular hours and the ability to travel on short notice.
