Business Intelligence Analyst II

Under the guidance and direction of a Business Intelligence Analyst II or Senior, develops an understanding of the data in the organization. Assists with analysis and report writing with key sets of information from the EPIC Clarity data models and multiple other systems throughout the organization. Utilizes Business Intelligence tools to present data to the organization. Analysis includes business and operational understanding, quality improvement measures and development, and patient activity. Works extensively with the Business Intelligence Analyst II team and meets with clients to understand business and process flows to develop reports that manage the business requirements of client. Work is performed in a team environment with understanding and application of the key components of quality improvement, strong customer service skills and ability to work closely with management throughout the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years experience required:
Bachelor's degree
3 years experience in data development, data analysis or report programming
OR
Associate's Degree
5 years experience in data development, data analysis or report programming.

Essentia health is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst. The Business Intelligence Analyst is an Information Services professional and crucial member of the Essentia Data Warehouse team responsible for enterprise level information architecture, data warehousing, data integration, and data management solutions for clinical, business, and research domains. The analyst's role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing and implementing BI solutions to end users. The BI analyst is also responsible for ensuring high level of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing. The BI analyst provides understanding of the data in the organization, performing analysis and report writing with key sets of information from the enterprise data warehouse, EPIC Clarity data models, HBOC, Lawson, Caduceus, and multiple other systems throughout the organization. Analysis includes business and operational understanding, quality improvement measures and development, and a broad spectrum of patient activity. Analysts work extensively with clients to understand business and process flows to develop BI solutions and reports that manage their business requirements. Delivery systems include Business Objects Enterprise (Crystal Reports, WebI Intelligence, BI Universes). Activities also include statistical analysis, data mining, extensive graphing, and development of new methods of reporting. Work performed in a team environment with understanding and application of the key components of quality improvement, strong customer service skills, and ability to work closely with management throughout the organization. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or years experience required:
Bachelor's degree, 3 years experience in data development, data analysis, or report programming
OR
Associate's degree, 5 years experience in data development, data analysis, or report programming.
Experience with tier-one applications, databases and data warehouses, such as Oracle, MS SQL, SAP/Business Objects, Crystal Reports preferred.
