Key Responsibilities:
- Manages student registration processes; registers students and provides orientation regarding procedures and expectations; creates and adjusts student class schedules.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, career, and personal/social issues.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement strategies to support students' educational and personal goals.
- Assist students in developing academic and career plans, including college and career readiness activities.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- State certification or licensure as a School Counselor (or eligibility for certification/licensure).
- Experience working as a School Counselor in an educational setting is preferred
- Must be an effective team member; making student-centered decisions; managing difficult situations; and fulfilling professional responsibilities.
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
