Job Summary:
Responsible for helping to develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities include helping organize and conduct practice sessions, and managing team logistics. The assistant coach will also mentor student-athletes, providing guidance on both athletic and academic endeavors, and foster a positive and inclusive team environment. A commitment to upholding the school's values and promoting a culture of respect and excellence is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the head coach help develop and implement practice plans and training programs.
Under the direction of the head coach help teach and refine techniques and strategies.
Under the direction of the head coach help monitor and evaluate player performance.
Under the direction of the head coach help organize team participation in matches, tournaments, and events.
Under the direction of the head coach help manage team equipment and logistics.
Maintain inventory of equipment and ensure it is in good condition.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
Provide academic and personal guidance to student-athletes.
Ensure adherence to all school and league policies and regulations.
Collaborate with school staff and the athletic department to support student-athlete success.
Administrative and Communication Duties:
Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and the athletic department regarding schedules, expectations, and team needs under the direction of the head coach.
Help ensure all team members meet academic and eligibility requirements under the direction of the head coach.
Manage the rosters, attendance, schedule, and budget, including ordering uniforms, equipment, and supplies under the direction of the head coach.
Understanding of Google Suite for administrative duties is preferred.
Uphold school student and athletic policies.
Working Conditions:
Must be available for after-school practices, evening games, and occasional weekend events.
Ability to work in various weather conditions during outdoor events/indoor events.
Physical ability to demonstrate techniques and participate in physical activities.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge and experience in the specific activity , preferably at a competitive level.
Previous coaching experience, preferably with high school athletes.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Commitment to promoting academic achievement and personal growth.
First aid/CPR certification preferred
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
