Job Summary:
This role involves planning and conducting practice sessions, developing players' skills, and instilling values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions focusing on skill development, and physical conditioning.
Teach fundamentals, including proper techniques.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
Manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, matches, and transportation.
Monitor and evaluate player progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Ensure all players understand and adhere to the rules and regulations of the sport.
Maintain inventory of equipment and ensure it is in good condition.
Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
Foster academic success and personal growth in student-athletes.
Uphold the school's values and ensure the well-being and safety of all team members.
Administrative and Communication Duties:
Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and the athletic department regarding schedules, expectations, and team needs under the direction of the head coach.
Help ensure all team members meet academic and eligibility requirements under the direction of the head coach.
Manage the rosters, attendance, schedule, and budget, including ordering uniforms, equipment, and supplies under the direction of the head coach.
Understanding of Google Suite for administrative duties is preferred.
Uphold school student and athletic policies.
Working Conditions:
Must be available for after-school practices, evening games, and occasional weekend events.
Ability to work in various weather conditions during outdoor events/indoor events.
Physical ability to demonstrate techniques and participate in physical activities.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of fundamentals and techniques.
Previous coaching experience, preferably with high school/junior high athletes.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Commitment to promoting academic achievement and personal growth.
First aid/CPR certification preferred
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.
