The City of New Richmond is seeking a motivated and energetic team player to join our highly effective Wastewater and Water Departments. This position will assist with day-to-day operational tasks within both the wastewater and the water departments, primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City of New Richmond’s Wastewater collection system and lift stations. The position will also perform a variety of tasks to maintain the City’s wells, water distribution system, and operate the Treatment Plant. This position’s time will be allocated as 50% in the water utility and 50% in the wastewater utility. It is expected that the duties overall will reflect this division. This is a regular full-time position and will require some standby work on a rotating basis and emergency call outs as necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of wastewater treatment, drinking water distribution as well as operation and maintenance of a variety of equipment associated with the operation of the wastewater collection and water distribution systems. However, candidates with good mechanical aptitude and a great attitude will be considered, and training will be provided as necessary.

Employees must be at least eighteen years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent and possess a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License. Must have or be able to obtain (within one year of hire) a WI Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with tanker and air brake endorsement. Must have or be able to obtain (within one year of hire) a Basic General Wastewater with certification in the subclasses A1, B, SS. Individual must also have or be able to obtain (within two years of hire) DNR Water Operator Certification in subclasses Groundwater and Distribution. Some experience or background working in the area of public works/utilities is preferred.
