The Director of Government Accounts is responsible for the overall leadership, management, financial accountability, compliance, planning and oversight of the Government Accounts team. This position is directly responsible for the development and execution of the organizations government sales strategy to optimize sales revenue, margins, and market share.
Role & Responsibility
• Successfully lead the government sales team to achieve the organization's annual operating plan for government sales to include forecasting, programs, and other goals to support the success of government sales throughout multiple product divisions.
• Lead the development and execution of the annual Go-To-Market strategy to leverage government contracts and sales programs to achieve revenue, margin, and market share objectives.
• Develop and successfully manage the overall sales and marketing budget to include the respective cost centers for the government sales division.
• Ensure the team operates effectively within the North American Region, supporting the overall vision and mission while applying the Bobcat® values in all interactions.
• Develop strong relationships with SLED and FED agencies, associations, and legislative bodies to ensure Bobcat® is the preferred equipment brand of choice.
• Manage processes to ensure that the government business unit works collaboratively and cross functionally with key stakeholders within the product divisions, field staff, and dealer enterprises.
• Manage training programs to ensure that the government sales team, field staff, and dealer enterprises follows the best practices for growing contract sales and growing government accounts.
• Lead the development and execution of the overall government contract capture strategy to include statewide, cooperative, and federal contracts.
• Provide direction and actionable goals to ensure the team understands how their performance impacts department, team, and the organizational strategy map.
Job Requirement
• Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
• Experience Required: 10>15 years government sales experience within SLED and FED markets.
• Travel Required: >50%
• Minimum 10 years of government contract proposal and contract capture experience within SLED and FED markets.
• Minimum 10 years selling or relationship experience utilizing extensive dealer networks or other distribution channels.
• Five (5) years demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience
• Excellent listening, negotiating, and coordinating skills.
• Proficiency in the operation and application of all Bobcat® products and attachments
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems
• Charismatic public speaking and presentation skills
• Strong financial acumen
