Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.

Qualifications: Time and financial management skills; supervision and positive human relation skills; strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills; experience with food preparation and serving in a commercial setting; ability to lift sixty (60) pounds.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Supervise and assist in planning, preparation, and service of food.
  2. Collect information and maintain operational records.
  3. Assume responsibility for ordering, receiving, and storing food and non-food materials on computer or by phone direct to vendors.
  4. Provide training for satellite kitchen personnel and supervise in the rotation of kitchen positions.
  5. Promote positive public relations with students, building staff, and school community.
  6. Provide oral evaluation and annual written evaluation of employees in satellite kitchen.
  7. Direct food service program activities in compliance with federal, state, and local governmental regulations.
  8. Maintain equipment through daily care and arrange repairs through school personnel.
  9. Assist in interviewing and training of kitchen personnel.
  10. Keep records of employee hours and call for substitutes.
  11. Assume responsibility for student accounts, ala carte sales and deposit of cash.
  12. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to frequently walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.

Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months (August - May)

Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm (40 hrs / week)

Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the Supervisor.
