Job Goal: Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment.
Responsibilities:
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc.; and adhering to safety practices.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: methods of industrial cleaning; and safety practices and procedures.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with
diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; and working with constant interruptions.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) Month
Hours: 4:00 - 8:00 pm, M-F, 20hrs/week. Hours may vary daily depending on tasks and could include some evening and weekend hours depending on events.
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated depending on school level, elementary (Head) or secondary (Lead).

- Perform general custodial duties including floor care and general cleaning.
- Perform general grounds maintenance including snow removal and lawn and gardening tasks.
- Assist other building personnel with special activity preparation.
- Acquire general knowledge of building mechanical systems.
- Assist Head/Lead Custodian and district maintenance personnel in operation and repair of mechanical systems including preventive maintenance.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal, custodial supervisor or the head/lead custodian.
