Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. Applicants must have a degree in education or related field, reference to applicants with North Dakota teaching license.
Qualifications: Effective Communication skills, core academic skills, ability to work with and relate to age appropriate students and their academic problems.
Job Goal: Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator in a tutorial capacity with instruction and classroom supervision.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months, academic school year
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist vocational educator and/or interventions coordinator by providing for academic and career education support by tutoring students individually or in small groups. Duties include:
- Help students with organizational skills
- Provide tutorial support for core academic and career and technical education classes
- Teach strategy-based study skills and tips and guide students in applying and developing these skills in their academic classes
- Assist with review of daily assignments
- Review for tests and monitoring of test taking
- Monitor progress toward passing and earning credit in classes
- Review and follow educational plans for students
- Edit written work
- Guide and help to develop decision making skills
- Access resource materials and have available for student/teacher use
- Supervise independent study courses as needed
- Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator in the development and management of learning centers.
- Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator in implementing behavior management plans for individual students.
- Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator with clerical duties.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
