This posting covers multiple positions at various secondary level (6-12) schools for the 2024-2025 school year.

Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months, academic school year
Hours: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, when school is in session
Variable full-time and part-time positions available with flexible scheduling.
Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Qualifications: Ability to work with a variety of student behaviors and educational needs, primarily in the general education classroom. Ability to work as a team member, demonstrates human relations skills, and demonstrates effective communication skills.
Job Goal: Assist the classroom teacher with instruction and classroom activities. Assists students with disabilities under the supervision of special education/ general education teachers and building administrators.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in carrying out activities to achieve goals and objectives listed in the students' Individual Educational Plans.
- Assist students in instructional activities, curriculum modification and adaptations with the planning and supervision of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher.
- Assist with the tracking of student progress through data collection
- Work out of a self-contained program, ie. Autism, ED, Alternative Learning Program
- Support students individually or in small groups and toggle between the general education setting and the self-contained setting.
- Work with computers and other adaptive AT equipment to aid in student learning.
- Supervise students individually and in small and large groups with the planning and direction of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher.
- Assist in the provision of accommodations and adaptations.
- Assist students in developing self-management skills.
- Assist teachers in classroom management and in the carrying out of positive behavior support plans.
- Partner with classroom teacher in monitoring the classroom to minimize distractions and disruptions to promote learning.
- Assist students in other ways as assigned by supervisors.
- Assist students in loading and unloading safely from buses and in drop off and pick up zones.
- Participate in professional development, including program specific training and behavioral de-escalation, to acquire specific skills needed to perform responsibilities.
- Promote learning environments that are student-centered, safe, and supportive where through effective communication and relationship building.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the district supervisor.
