Hospice of the Red River Valley (HRRV) is looking for a Hospice Physician to join our growing team and expanding service area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and quality in hospice care while working with a skilled multi-disciplinary team and leader in quality Hospice services in the upper Midwest. This position will be full-time, benefit eligible, and can be located in either Bismarck, Fargo, Devils Lake, Jamestown, or Minot.

Position Summary

The Hospice Physician collaborates with the hospice medical director in providing world-class hospice medical care to patients in accordance with federal regulations and the strategic direction set by the board of directors. Some travel required.

Essential Functions

Partners with the medical director in providing medical expertise for:
  • Standards of medical care for hospice patients
  • Eligibility and ineligibility of referred patients
  • Disease management and pain and symptom management of hospice patients
  • Direct medical care to hospice patients
  • Physician-to-physician relationships and leadership
  • Clinical and public education regarding hospice care
  • Guidance to hospice NP or nurse as they provide direct patient care
  • Practices within the current standards of medical care for hospice patients.

  • Experience in care of terminally ill patients
  • Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and collaboration
  • Administrative healthcare experience desirable
  • Board Certified FP or IM desirable
  • Hospice and Palliative Medicine Board or Geriatric certification desirable
Licenses, Registrations Required:
  • Current driver's license and auto insurance
  • M.D. or D.O. licensure in North Dakota and Minnesota (or willing to obtain dual licensure)
