Overview
Starting Pay: $14.50 to $17.04 DOE
Part-time, benefited position working 70 hours per two-week pay period. Days of work are Monday - Friday. Hours are 8:30 am- 3:30 pm Monday - Thursday and Fridays 7:30 am - 3:30 pm. Holiday work are as needed. Candidate must have a friendly and outgoing personality as this position works closely with all other kitchen employees and café guests.
Primary responsibilities include: assembles and operates dish machine; processes dishes according to standard procedure; scrubs pots, pans & other items as needed; monitors dish machine temps to ensure sanitary wash cycle, delivers clean dishes/utensils to proper kitchen areas; maintains adequate level of tableware in cafe and patient trayline, retrieves caterings; stocks cafe cooler, and other duties as assigned by manager. May deliver patient trays on evening shifts or weekends occasionally.

Previous dishwashing experience preferred but not require. A minimum of 2-3 weeks at this hospital to meet the quantity and quality standards of the job.

JOB FUCTIONS
- Assembles, maintains, and operates dish machine.
- Processes dishes according to standard procedure through loading, running, and unloading the dish washer and scrubbing pots, pans, and other dishes as needed.
- Monitors dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash and rinse cycle.
- Delivers clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen areas in a safe and neat fashion.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of clean tableware for café and patient meal services.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Retrieves items from caterings or meetings; assists with clean-up of the room and then processes dirty dishes and restocks unused paper items.
- Handles tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintains dishroom work area in a safe and sanitary condition.
- Empties trash containers as required.
- Assists the café employees by helping to stock cold beverages in the café coolers according to pre-established par levels.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Answers the department telephone calls, as needed.
- Consistently uses AIDET communication skills with JRMC guests and employees.
- Ensures work area is kept in a clean, neat, and orderly manner.
- Interacts with employees from all areas of the hospital during café serving hours. May also have contact with physicians and cafeteria customers.
- Contributes to overall Nutrition Services Department and ever growing services.
- Assures that personal behavior complies with the hospital's Standards of Behavior at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by department supervisor or manager.
