Mission for Position
The women's health nurse practitioner cares for patients across their lifespan, collaborating with supervising physicians and primary care providers to deliver high-quality, personalized care for a variety of conditions specific to women.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate and manage therapies for acute or chronic health problems, health screens, preventive care, and general health maintenance counseling.
- Recommend, prepare, and issue prescription and non-prescription medication based on FDA guidelines and evidence-based practice.
- Gynecological consults including contraception, pre-conception planning, infertility evaluation & management, abnormal bleeding, STI screening/treatment, incontinence, prolapse evaluation and management, and pelvic pain.
- Referral and follow-up care with physician specialists under the review of the supervising physician.
- Patient education and counseling.
- Collaboration with physicians regarding complex patients; more complex patients are periodically seen by a primary care physician.
- Ensure patients understand the importance of physician supervision by arranging periodic visits with a supervising MD and keeping them informed about the collaborative care approach.
- Coordinate care with primary care physicians and surgeons through regular communication, shared electronic health records, care conferences or team meetings, referrals and consultations, and coordinated follow-up care.
- Perform patient history and physical examinations.
- Order appropriate diagnostic studies to form a diagnostic impression and skilled analysis of test results.
- Health promotion and disease prevention activities to include screenings, vaccinations and guidance in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Cover telemedicine-based quick visits.
- Full time
- 5 Saturday's a year in Urgent Care.
Qualifications
- Board certified with valid state registration or license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Works independently
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Effective stress management abilities
- Competent in problem solving and task prioritization
- Data interpretation
- Dedication to providing a personalized care experience while maintaining therapeutic boundaries
