The School of Natural Resource Sciences (SNRS) is an academic, research, and Extension unit within the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources at NDSU. We are seeking a responsible and motivated individual to support undergraduate and graduate students in the SNRS. We hope to find someone who will excel at their duties while also working well with our collection of students, faculty, and staff from a diverse background of populations and experiences. This position will perform a wide range of administrative, operational, and office support activities related to academic and general support to faculty, staff, and students.
SNRS is comprised of four disciplines (entomology, natural resource management, rangeland science, and soil science) that work in collaboration to address research that can improve the livelihoods of North Dakota citizens while also contributing to the scientific community. Our undergraduate program, Natural Resource Management, serves approximately 100 students. We also have several masters, PhD, and professional graduate programs, which together serve approximately 90 graduate students.
Responsibilities:
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00p
Advertised Salary:
$39,000- $44,000/year
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role

Responsibilities:
- Answering questions related to major for professional academic advisors for freshman/entry level students
- Assist in advising upper level students and coordinating their advising with faculty
- Facilitating and coordinating research experiences for students
- Assist with student recruitment and retention activities
- Provide administrative support for students and student-related administrative activities such as course scheduling, scholarships, and research logistics.
- Serve as backup for front-line office duties including answering phones, opening and closing office, and assisting with daily office activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work independently
- Ability to contribute to a professional teamwork environment in a positive, flexible manner
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a higher education environment

- 3+ years of experience in an administrative role.
- Experience working in an educational or customer service role (e.g., front-line customer service, virtual customer service, sales, tour guide, etc.)
- Degree or coursework related to natural resource management, entomology, range, soils, biological sciences, agriculture, or related disciplines
- Experience with North Dakota State University
- Experience with advising or mentoring students
