Position Summary:

The College of Business at North Dakota State University seeks applications for a full-time (non-tenure track) assistant or associate professor of practice in banking and real estate in the Department of Transportation, Logistics, and Finance.

Duties and Responsibilities

The normal teaching load will be 3/3, i.e., three 3-credit courses each semester during the regular academic year. The taught courses will be in the areas of banking, real estate, wealth management, and other areas as needed. The remaining individual's time is allocated to service and engagement, which involve engaging with external industry stakeholders in the areas of banking, real estate, and investment strategies. Additionally, the individual may conduct optional applied research, including practitioner research with undergraduate students, case studies, and related projects. T he position also has expectations for maintaining professional qualifications.

Work Schedule:

9 months, contracted

40 hours per week

Advertised Salary:

Starting at $80,000+ for Assistant Professor of Practice, increased salary for Associate Professor of Practice, commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in finance from an AACSB-accredited institution. A Master of Business Administration degree from an AACSB-accredited institution is acceptable when combined with professional financial experience.
  • Candidates must meet faculty qualification standards for accreditation
  • Industry experience in banking or related fields.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment

  • Must be willing to teach Commercial Banking courses, Real Estate, Wealth Management and other courses as needed, in face to face/hybrid/online delivery formats
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Evidence of high-quality university-level teaching in Finance and related fields
  • Evidence of involvement in professional development and professional organizations
  • Committed to student success
  • Three or more years of industry experience in Commercial Banking
  • Experience in Real Estate or Wealth Management
