Position Purpose:
The NDSU Agriculture Budget Office is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Budget Manager to join our team. This key role supports the NDSU Extension Service, Northern Crops Institute (NCI), and ND Agricultural Experiment Station (NDAES). As the Budget Manager, you will be responsible for managing annual budgets, providing expert financial guidance, and assisting leadership in identifying and implementing efficiency measures. This position offers an opportunity to directly impact the financial health and operational success of the NDSU Agriculture division.

- Manage budgets for NDAES Ag Facilities, ensuring compliance, monitoring expenditures, and providing financial reports.
- Oversee capital project accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and contracts.
- Support HR and payroll-related budget management activities.
- Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to track and manage complex financial data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in managing budgets in an educational or governmental setting.
- Familiarity with grant and contract funding, particularly federally funded programs.
- Experience in capital project accounting.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar financial systems.
