Position Description

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the College of Business at North Dakota State University invites applications for a full-time (non-tenure track) position of lecturer in the area of management information systems (MIS).

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in MIS and business analytics. The normal teaching load is eight three-credit courses per academic year (Aug 16 - May 15), which counts for 80% of the workload. Service (20% of the workload) includes promoting the MIS profession and NDSU MIS programs, advising student clubs and serving on department, college and university committees.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master of Science, MBA, or PhD in MIS or other related discipline.
  • Must meet faculty qualification standards for accreditation
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Evidence of, or potential for, effective teaching
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of high-quality university-level teaching in MIS through, for example, teaching evaluations and letters of recommendation
  • Ability to teach classes such as Managing Information Resources, Data and Telecommunications Administration, Computer Programming (e.g., Python and R), IT Auditing, Introduction to Management Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, and Business Analytics
