This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position.
The NDSU Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC) is seeking a highly motivated individual that will assist with collecting observations for research on crop production systems in southwest North Dakota. The primary focus of this position will be on working with soil fertility, small grains and various broadleaf crops. Responsibilities will also include assisting in all activities required for the successful execution of field-based agronomy demonstrations and trials. These responsibilities will include note taking, data entry and other duties required to meet project goals. Many duties will require working in an outdoor environment with varying environmental conditions. Duties will require occasional travel to off station research locations. This candidate must be able to carry out these and other duties as assigned with general and minimal guidance from other members of the agronomy staff. Ideally, candidate will be able to start in mid May and work through August 31. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This employee will be required to check in/out each day using the NDSU HCM employee self-service timeclock portal.
This position is based in Dickinson, ND. Summer housing is available if needed.
Pay rate: $16.00+ per hour, depending upon experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and also as a team member
- Complete background check
- Working toward a degree in crop science, agronomy or related fields
- Currently holds or is able to obtain a North Dakota Commercial Pesticide Applicator's license.
