The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at NDSU is seeking candidates for a Technical Certification Program Manager. We are looking for someone who is motivated, innovative, has great customer service skills, has worked with adult learners, developed or assisted with curriculum development, and works well with a diverse group of people.
The primary objectives of this position are to: (1) Oversee the technical certification program to ensure compliance with 23 CFR 637 . ; (2) Understand and maintain current knowledge of NDDOT specifications, supplemental specifications, and special provisions regarding sampling and testing requirements; (3) Plan and schedule training classes, classrooms, and instructors in collaboration with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT); (4) Maintain records and process class registration . ; (5) Work with NDDOT to consolidate certifications records.; (6) Assess Learning Management System software applications or assist with an in-house developed software to be used to track certifications, class registrations, & renewals for implementation into the program

Advertised Salary: $61,000+/DOE

Research - Conducting applied and advanced research in highway, transit, rail, air, and waterway transportation that addresses the critical issues of the state, region, and nation.
Education - Educating the transportation workforce of tomorrow through multidisciplinary curricula that focus on transportation economics, management, infrastructure planning, mobility, and supply chain logistics.
Outreach - Improving the skills and knowledge of the existing workforce through training, technical assistance, and the transfer of research results to practitioners.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or 2-years of college
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Experience with Learning Management Systems
- Experience with working with adult learners and understanding their needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent Customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience with SQL Server Databases or other database platforms
- Experience in coordination, facilitation and curriculum development.
- Proven communication skills, teamwork, troubleshooting, and diagnosing.
- Familiar with NDDOT's Field Sampling and Testing Manual, NDDOT's Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, and AASHTO & ASTM sampling, testing, and standards.
