Permitting Specialist

In this role, the Permitting Specialist will lead the permitting efforts for new transmission projects with federal, state and local agencies to allow for the construction of transmission projects needed to deliver reliable, cost-effective and environmentally responsible electricity to our customers and communities.

- Building key relationships with internal and external stakeholders in support of developing permit applications and obtaining permits.
- Engaging in public meetings as a project spokesperson.
- Managing several different disciplines (land rights, environmental, engineering, communications, legal) in support of developing permit applications and obtaining permits.
- Collaborating with the project manager to identify and estimate risks and mitigations of obtaining permits for new transmission projects.
- Drafting and reviewing permit applications.
- Researching the details of new transmission projects to understand what permits are required.
- Leading a continuous improvement strategy to apply lessons learned from past projects to improve permitting efforts for new projects.
Qualifications:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license to travel to meetings with the ability for periodic overnight stays.

- The expected base compensation for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
