Job Summary

This person will support the farm manager in the daily potato farm operations. This includes; planting, irrigating, harvesting, overseeing field team members, giving daily direction, and scheduling.

Specific Duties Include
  • Support the farm manager to supervise the field farm operations
  • Perform/coordinate potato crop planting, fertilizing, irrigation and spray operations
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws, agricultural audits, food safety regulations, and workers safety
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management and support resources
  • Maintain buildings and equipment ensuring they are in appropriate condition
  • Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management
  • Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment on the farm.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of R.D. Offutt Farms.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Previous farm operations experience including crop planting, farm equipment management, maintenance scheduling, and basic agronomy
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
