SUMMARY OF POSITION: This Bismarck State College position is located at the Lineworker facility grounds located in Northwest Mandan, ND. Responsibilities include curriculum instruction in the classroom, shop and lineworker yard, along with curriculum upgrades and CDL instruction (may include classroom, simulators and tractor trailer). Additional responsibilities may include student advising, committee work, marketing programs, working with various industry advisory committees, submitting grades by the established deadline and other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or the Dean of the National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE).

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or Associate Degree/Certificate in Electrical Lineworker and a minimum of three years of active employment within the Lineworker field with agreement to complete a bachelor's degree within six years of date of hire (tuition assistance available).
  • Strong record of active employment in the Lineworker field.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Lineworker industry, safety and environmental aspects.
  • Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office, email and electronic calendar (Outlook).
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Hold a ND Class A CDL driver's license or obtain a license within one year of employment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and to articulate and support the community college philosophy.
  • Will be required to obtain North Dakota State Board for Career and Technical Education certification (up to six years to obtain and training is provided). Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with an Associate degree in Electrical Lineworker.
  • Extensive industry experience with Journeymen Linemen status.
  • Curriculum development, teaching and/or training experience.
  • Hold a ND Class A driver's license.
